According to data released by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) on Friday (15 September), a total of 1,241 new private homes were sold in August, a whopping 165%, or 773 units, more than the 468 units sold in August last year. It is also 11.7% more than the 1,111 units sold in July.
August was also the second straight month that more than 1,000 new private homes were transacted.
Despite this considerable increase in the new private home sales figures, the total number of private and Executive Condominium (EC) apartments shifted in August was less than the 2,089 units sold in July, with only 1,581 units sold. This was due to the fewer number of ECs transacted in August (340 units) when there were no new EC projects launched.
Sales of new launches in the Rest of Central Region (RCR) topped the list with 767 units sold. New developments in the Outside Central Region (OCR) saw a total of 334 units being transacted and there were 140 units sold in the Core Central Region (CCR).
