Drop in Sales of New Private Homes in April But Numbers Show a Great Improvement from Last Year

According to statistics released by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) on Monday (May 15), the number of new private home units sold in April dropped by 12.6% from March with a total of 1,555 units moved as compared to 1,780 the previous month.

Despite the fall in developer sales month-on-month, this is a significant improvement from last year’s numbers when there were only 750 transactions in April 2016.

Developer sales projects launched in the suburban areas sold the most units in April, hitting a high of 967 units. Coming in second were new private homes launched within the city fringe areas and a total of 558 units exchanged hands. Only 30 units were sold in the Core Central Region (CCR).

Frasers Centrepoint Singapore’s Seaside Residences located in Siglap saw a successful launch with a total of 419 out of 560 units sold, making it the best-selling private home development in April.

MCL Land’s Sol Acres Executive Condominium in Choa Chu Kang led the pack in the Executive Condominium (EC) sector, having sold 122 units in total.
